"At The River I Stand"

During and after the MLK celebration supper on Tuesday 4th April, at the Strike Sanctuary (Episcopal Church) there will be two showings of the documentary "At The River I Stand." This documentary examines the 1968 sanitation workers' strike which brought Martin Luther King, Jr. to Memphis at a pivotal point in the civil rights movement. April 4 marks the anniversary of the assassination of King in Memphis.

Showings will be at 6pm (with supper provided) and 9.30pm.

UNICCO workers on strike, S.T.A.N.D. members, and UM faculty will be present to discuss the current status of the workers' fight for justice and dignity.
